MACHINE DREAMS

So i've been wanting to get some outfit photos up, but the perfectionist I am wanted to get the shots 'just right' to share with you. I am new to 'the tripod' and was just about getting the shot and technique right (required alot of patience!) when...I dropped it and it's completely broken. At the moment I only have a  (broken) Samsung point and shoot  as my bank balance will disapprove of purchasing a DSLR any time soon. So I am going to have to take a trip to town to get a replacement, all I can say is thank god for insurance - this will be numero 3 this year. However much I want to shout at my tripod ...I am definatley the clumsy culprit.

So the outfit - Just when I was complaining of a less-than-average summer, out come the rays...hey can't complain! It is rather humid outside, so the hair up, bandeau (£2.50 bargain from Primarni*) and lightweight top is la perfect combo - nice and breezy. I am a sucka for maxi skirts too and will carry them through to A/W, teamed with chunky knits and chelsea boots (which appear a wardrobe must have for 2011).

I apologise for there only being one photo, it was the only one remotely ok to put up before disaster struck, but no doubt i'll be re-wearing this soon enough so shall get some more detailed shots - perhaps joined with a matt red lip!

MUSIC MAGPIE

Today is all about the music.

Little Dragon, a Swedish electronic band have recently released  the single Urban Ritual, and kudos to them. Their sound is probably the most refreshing and exciting i've heard in 2011...but then I came across this:

Maya Jane Coles has well and truly stolen me with this hypnotic and highly addictive remix! If you like The XX then I have no doubt that you'll fall in L.O.V.E. with this music must-have for late night blogging.

The XX - Leeds 2010

Enjoy.

URBAN TURBAN

Autumn/Winter is definatley my much loved and awaited time of year...and it's quickly creeping up on what has been for the most part a poor excuse for a Summer (my pale skin yet to experience a 'golden glow'). Soon my Costa Coffee card will be racking up points with my addiction to hot chocolates (with extra marshmallows), but most of all my student account will suffer my L.O.V.E. for A/W outfits. I can't get enough of Winter coats, layering, chunky knits, and generally the need to wear more items!

I know it's early to mention the word Christmas...but last Christmas the boyfriend bought me a pearl embellished turban. Although a quite out-of-character choice (my head just doesn't seem to accept hats!) I felt the need to own this Carrie Bradshaw-esque item. The turban, what I thought would most likely be a one hit (back of the wardrobe) wonder, will be a noticeable accessory of mine this A/W and looks to have a place on the highstreet. The turb'd out look I admit is not for everyone but i'm so glad I tried it. Don't be afraid to be the only one wearing one!

ONE

Over the past few months I’ve been feeling a bit of a blog stalker! My first ever blog experience was the inspirational LLYMLRS and from then on I have been smitten…blog, after blog, after blog. Following blogs has in fact become part of my bedtime ritual (along with a trusty face wipe=no nasty morning make-up face!).

After alot of reading, I have decided to finally start writing. My aim is for Bottle Ginger to become a place to indulge in my three loves: fashion, beauty and music. I am constantly being inspired by others sharing their thoughts and ideas, so by sharing my own I hope to introduce people to be inspired too.

See you anon.
